Hamilton Hopes To Start Mercedes Contract Negotiations Next Week
JAKARTA - Lewis Hamilton hopes to start negotiating his contract with Mercedes next week, following the end of the 2020 Formula 1 racing season in Abu Dhabi on Sunday.
After recovering from the COVID-19 which forced him to miss racing at Sakhir, Hamilton returned to the track and finished third in the season finale at the Yas Marina Circuit, before expiring his contract with the Silver Arrow team in the next few weeks.
"Hopefully in the future," Hamilton said regarding contract talks with Mercedes boss Toto Wolff, as quoted by Antara on the official Formula 1 website.
"We want to finish it before Christmas I think.
"I plan to be here next year. I think we as a team have a lot more to do together, a lot more to achieve in this sport and even outside of this sport.
"So yeah, I hope we can start discussions this week and hopefully finish before Christmas."
