KPK Super Be Careful Handling The Case Of Lukas Enembe, There Is No Desire For A Violation Of The Law
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has confirmed that the investigation into the alleged riot that ensnared the Governor of Papua Lukas Enembe is carried out carefully. It is hoped that the legal process will not need to be tested in pretrial.
"Once again, we don't want that in the processes there are laws that are violated, they can be tested, either in pretrial or others. We also don't want that these processes have violated the law," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters, Tuesday, November 22.
Ali said investigators already had an Investigation Report (BAP) containing Lukas' statement. This file was obtained after he was examined by investigators who came to Jayapura, Papua some time ago.
"That then he did not answer, yes, his right. However, the news of the event is there, the report of the examination and it is legal according to the law, because the investigator is the investigator," he said.
"That's what matters to us because of course a suspect is silent as well as his rights, he doesn't want to answer his rights. However, that the formal requirement is that BAP is necessary and we have received it," continued Ali.
Furthermore, the KPK ensured that the investigation into the alleged corruption that ensnared Lukas would continue. A series of investigations from witness examinations to searches continue.
In fact, searches have also been carried out at the Lukas Enembe's house and apartment in Jakarta. As a result, investigators found evidence including gold bars which would then be confiscated.
"Surely the investigation process did not stop at all. The process continues," said Ali.
As previously reported, Lukas Enembe has been named a suspect in alleged corruption by the KPK. He was then questioned by the KPK on Thursday, November 3 in Jayapura.
At that time, the KPK team consisting of independent doctors and investigators were present led by KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri. Arriving in Jayapura, Firli also had a chance to talk with Lukas.
During the conversation, Firli asked about Lukas' condition and spoke for about 15 minutes. Even so, Lukas' examination did not last long because he was sick.
