The PUPR Ministry Is Ready To Support The U-20 World Cup
JAKARTA - After successfully supporting the implementation of the 18th Asian Games in 2018, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), through the Directorate General of Human Settlements, was again entrusted with supporting the holding of the 2021 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
"The PUPR Ministry is tasked with ensuring in detail the readiness of facilities and infrastructure, especially stadiums and fields according to President Joko Widodo's direction at the Limited Meeting of Preparations for the FIFA U-20 World Cup on January 17, 2020," explained the release of the PUPR Ministry, received by VOI, Thursday 30. January.
The World Football Federation (FIFA) on 18 January 2020 has determined six stadiums that will be used as venues for the 2021 FIFA U-20 World Cup out of 10 stadiums proposed by the Indonesian Government. The six stadiums are the GBK Main Stadium in Jakarta, Pakansari Stadium in Bogor, Manahan Solo Stadium, Yogyakarta Mandala Krida Stadium, Bung Tomo Stadium in Surabaya and I Wayan Dipta Stadium in Bali.
In addition, there are four other stadiums that have been prepared as reserves, namely Gelora Sriwijaya Palembang Stadium, Bekasi Patriot Chandrabaga Stadium, Wibawa Mukti Cikarang Stadium and Jalak Harupat Stadium, Bandung Regency. Each stadium will be accompanied by five training fields with the provision of four open fields and one closed field.
The PUPR Ministry together with the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) and the Regional Government have conducted a preliminary assessment (initial assessment) of the six stadiums that have been selected by FIFA. Three stadiums that are ready for use are the Jakarta GBK Stadium, Bogor Pakansari Stadium with minor repairs and Surakarta's Manahan Stadium with minor repairs.
Meanwhile, the other three stadiums need to be repaired. The Mandala Krida Stadium in Yogyakarta needs repairs, including glare lights with a minimum height of 35 meters from the existing 28 meters, continuing single seat replacement, relayout for the west area, mechanical and electrical additions including air conditioning and generators as well as mix zone relayouts (media with players).
Improvements to the Bung Tomo Stadium in Surabaya include land acquisition, additional warming up of the indoor area, increasing the installed lights from 1,200 lux to 2,400 lux, changing the type of Japonica grass to Matrella, engineering access for players, media and spectators, adding changing rooms according to FIFA standards. , and rehabilitation of fences so that they cannot be reached by spectators.
For the I Wayan Dipta Stadium in Gianyar, Bali, improvements that need to be made include the addition of four changing rooms, the addition of single seats according to FIFA standards, installation of fences on the outer ring of the stadium, additional lighting power, installation of rain guns for watering the grass and preparing aspects legal stadium IMB and SLF.
Repair Fund of Up to IDR 300 Billion
Head of the Center for Development of Educational, Sports and Market Infrastructure Facilities (PSPPOP), Iwan Suprijanto, representing the Directorate General of Cipta Karya, said that support for the FIFA U-21 World Cup venue will cost Rp65 billion-300 billion.
In detail, the rehabilitation of 2 main venues, namely Pakansari Stadium, West Java and I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Bali, costs IDR 15 billion-170 billion, rehabilitation of 3 training fields (Sriwedari Solo, Sultan Agung Bantul, Delta Sidoarjo) and 12 fields (Bogor 5, Solo 4, Yogyakarta 3) amounting to IDR 40 billion-120 billion and the construction of two new fields in Yogyakarta IDR 10 billion. It is targeted that all major venues and training fields will be repaired by December 2020.
