Khofifah Gowes In Madiun City: The Pandemic Is Not Over Yet But East Java's Economy Must Be Strong
JAKARTA - East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa participated in cycling activities (gowes) in Madiun City in order to encourage economic recovery as well as campaign to the public about the importance of disciplined health protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
"The economy of East Java must be strong. In the third quarter, our economy is the strongest. We must protect this," said Governor Khofifah during his visit to Madiun City, quoted from Antara, Sunday, December 13.
In this activity, he also accompanied the Mayor of Madiun Maidi, Regional Secretary of East Java Province Heru Tjahjono, Head of East Java Regional Office of Bank Indonesia (BI) Difi Ahmad Johansyah, Head of BPN East Java Regional Office Jonahar, and President Director of PT Bank Jatim Busrul Iman.
"This is a drive for economic recovery. Therefore, we also invite officials in the economic sector and bank leaders. This is the key to the confusion between driving the economy and controlling the spread of COVID-19," said Khofifah.
According to him, in the context of economic recovery during the pandemic, the East Java Provincial Government has delivered a number of aids. Among them, revolving fund credit assistance, one student account program (KEJAR) from Bank Jatim, agricultural credit package (PKPJ) from Bank UMKM, micro credit guarantee certificate, business equipment assistance from JAMKRIDA, wage subsidy assistance, and Alert program participant cards.
The governor also symbolically distributed KUR Mikro, KUR Super Mikro and BPUM from BRI, BNI and Mandiri. As well as handing over land certificates of assets to Madiun City totaling 76 fields which were received directly by the Mayor of Madiun Maidi.
"Various types of aid are channeled to maintain economic resilience in East Java," said Khofifah.
He explained that this is the moment to create a new East Java after being affected by the pandemic. He believes that Madiun City has a great opportunity to rise.
"The pandemic is not over yet. Hopefully the micro and ultramicro business actors who receive assistance can run smoothly and be successful," he said.
In this cycling activity, Governor Khofifah and his entourage pedaled a bicycle by trying the tourist bike path in Madiun City as far as 8 kilometers with stops at several locations.
Such as the Spoor Market to distribute masks and basic necessities to street vendors, pedicab drivers, and underprivileged people around the market area. The group also had the opportunity to visit PT Industri Kereta Api (INKA).
Mayor of Madiun Maidi stated that the Madiun City Government and its ranks will continue to work together with the center in dealing with the pandemic in the region.
"We are ready to increase the rate of economic growth. We are optimistic that the economic recovery will be faster and better in 2021," he said.
