Menpora Apresiasi Konsistensi DBL Yang Terikut Andil Bina Pebasket Muda

JAKARTA - Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Zainudin Amali appreciated the consistency of the implementation of the Developmental Basketball League (DBL) which contributed to the development of young basketball players in the country.

Amali revealed that during the last 18 years, DBL has contributed significantly to producing reliable basketball players.

"The development of basketball talents through DBL has been running for 18 years and even many players have taken part in the national team and even abroad," Amali said as quoted by Antara, Sunday.

"I really appreciate the efforts of Mas Azrul (Azrul Ananda, Founder & CEO of DBL Indonesia) and the team in DBL who are extraordinary, consistent and continuous during their 18 years of developing young talents," he added.

Amali was present in person and watched the top match of the 2022 DBL Jakarta series at GOR Soemantri Brodjonegoro, Jakarta, Saturday night.

He hopes that from this event, new quality basketball players will emerge in the future.

"I hope that in the future it will increase again, and see the interest of these students is extraordinary. Hopefully basketball will develop and excel, now it has performed well in Southeast Asia (by winning gold at the Vietnam SEA Games), hopefully it will continue," said Amali.

Meanwhile, Azrul said that DBL will continue to hold competitions to measure the results of coaching at the young age level and students.

"DBL will continue and contribute to the development of basketball in Indonesia. Thank you for the presence of the Minister of Youth and Sports who can be an encouragement and a magnet for our young basketball athletes, students. This is a form of support for the development of Indonesian basketball," said Azrul.

At the top match of the men's sector, last night, SMA Jubilee won 67-62 over SMA Bukit Sion.

Previously in the women's sector, SMAN 70 Jakarta won after beating SMA Jubilee with a score of 54-33 in the top match.
