Sleman Discusses Quiet Week For COVID-19 After Year-End Holidays
JAKARTA - The Government of Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region has encouraged the local health office to implement a quiet week of COVID-19 after year-end holidays to control and reduce the spread of the corona virus in the local area.
"We are still dying for the quiet week of COVID-19. The plan for the quiet week of COVID-19 will take effect from January 4, 2021 for the next week," said the Head of the Sleman Regency Health Office Joko Hastaryo in Sleman as reported by Antara, Sunday.
According to him, the concept of this quiet week is that people stay at home and do not travel anywhere, let alone go out of town.
"So after enjoying the year-end holidays, people do not need to leave the house. Just stay at home by implementing the correct health protocol. This is looser than the PSBB," he said.
He said that during the quiet week the only ones working full time were health workers or medical personnel and public service officers as well as military and police officers.
"As for local government employees, efforts are made to work from home, as well as private employees. This is like at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic," he said.
Joko said, if this discourse is implemented, it is hoped that the community will also be able to comply, so that the temporary community for one week only needs to stay at home first.
"The application is adjusted in society, it does not have to close all accesses. But it is more about efforts to refrain from traveling and obey health protocols," he said.
He said, with this effort, it is hoped that the spread of COVID-19 can be more controlled and can be suppressed, and not until there is a spike in positive cases of COVID-19.
"Because this is also reflected in the spike in COVID-19 cases after a long vacation on leave at the end of October 2020, after which there was a surge in positive cases of COVID-19 starting in mid-November 2020," he said.
Meanwhile, the additional confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 in Sleman Regency during the week were recorded on December 8, there were an additional 122 positive cases, with the number of patients declared cured by 25 cases.
Then on December 9 there were an additional 82 positive cases and 118 recovered cases, 10 December 106 positive cases and 38 recovered cases, 62 positive cases on December 11 and 37 cases recovered.
Then on December 12 there were 122 additional positive cases of COVID-19 and 36 cases recovered.
"The cases of the spread of COVID-19 in Sleman in recent times have been dominated by cases of close contact with positive cases. From our average, every one positive case in Sleman has the potential to infect three people around them. Especially for asymptomatic or asymptomatic cases, "he said.
