Observers Call UMKM Actors Must Really Take Advantage Of The Job Creation Law

JAKARTA - Entrepreneurship observer Didik Purwadi invites MSME players to really take advantage of the support of the Job Creation Law for the MSME sector.

"We entrepreneurs and UMKM players must really take advantage of the existence of this Job Creation Law. Furthermore, we can quickly overtake corners," Didik said as quoted by Antara, Sunday, December 13.

Utilization, he gave an example, by collaborating with investors or State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN). Because one of the benefits of the Job Creation Law for MSMEs is to prioritize in partnerships with large unit companies and BUMN.

"For us (business actors), the Job Creation Law is a blessing that must be met with hard and measured work," he said.

To find out what else can be used from the Job Creation Law, MSME actors and aspiring entrepreneurs really need to know the contents of the Job Creation Law and its derivative regulations regarding points regarding support for MSMEs.

The current pandemic condition poses a serious threat to both businesses and workers. The government arguably faces challenges in overcoming the problem of unemployment either due to the pandemic or the emergence of around two million new workforce each year. For Didik, the Job Creation Law is the answer to that problem.

"The Job Creation Law is a breakthrough. Now we are quite worried due to the pandemic, the potential for unemployment is extraordinary up to over eight million and not to mention new graduates. I think this law is the right answer, ”said the Executive Director of the Indonesian Inspirational House.

To overcome unemployment, through the Job Creation Law, MSMEs are supported by facilities, protection and empowerment so that they can develop and absorb jobs more optimally. That is what is needed today.

"For the UMKM and Cooperative clusters, there are many benefits. Financing and market access is facilitated, licensing is also facilitated and other benefits. I think this is what is needed, ”said Didik.

In article 3 of Law (UU) number 11/2020 concerning Job Creation, it is stated that to increase employment, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are given facilities, protection and empowerment.

Ratification of the Job Creation Law and drafting derivative regulations that have only been completed in the next 3-4 months are separate steps for the government. The next step, Didik hopes, is for the government to tell the public what the implementation of this law will look like.

Then regarding implementation, the government is advised to really prepare in a planned way how to welcome investors, not only by facilitating business licensing, but also by providing legal certainty. This is so that they really invest in Indonesia.
