Bio Farma Asks Medbiz Applications As A Pharmacy Product Online Sales Service

JAKARTA PT Bio Farma is said to have just launched a web-based marketplace called the Medicine Distribution Business Zone (Madbiz) which is a digital end-to-end service for the distribution business platform to distribute medicinal products and medical devices.

President Director of Bio Farma Honesti Basyir said this digital application is a manifestation of the transformation in the company's current health care ecosystem.

"The development of Medbiz is in line with the goal of establishing a Pharmaceutical BUMN Holding, namely to create joint innovations in the provision of integrated, fast and efficient pharmaceutical digital products so that it can encourage the creation of a digital-based health ecosystem in Indonesia," he said in a press statement quoted on Sunday, November 20.

According to Honesti, Medbiz is proof that his party can transform conventional health systems and complement virtual-based service systems from upstream to downstream.

"Medbiz will become Bio Farma's digital milestone in the distribution of medicines and medical devices and will be the best solution for various health products," he said.

Honesti added that consumers can make purchases 24 hours, anytime and anywhere with the guarantee of product authenticity.

Similarly, Director of Transformation and Digital Bio Farma Soleh Ayubi said that this platform was designed to improve customer experience according to the marketplace concept in a practical manner and provide various conveniences.

A pharmaceutical B2B marketplace application is here to make it easier because it has been connected to several distributor networks spread across Indonesia, making health products more integrated, he said.

In order to further support the Medbiz ecosystem, Bio Farma also collaborated with PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia in terms of product financing.

BRI's Director of Consumer Business Handayani revealed that BRI through online financing will be ready to provide convenience for transaction financing through e-commerce with a limit of up to IDR 20 million.

He said, this collaboration will continue to be improved as an effort to provide easy health services for the Indonesian people.

"The synergy with Bio Farma is BRI's effort to provide accessibility and convenience for the community to take advantage of financial services," he said.

Handayani said the collaboration between the two SOEs also responded to consumer behavior which had changed since the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Digital transactions that are increasingly widespread are opportunities, of course we continue to develop various innovative features so that they can be a solution for people's financial services," he asserted.

Not only that, Bio Farma and BRI are targeting further cooperation through BRIVA, to financing business partners who use digital platforms owned by Pharmaceutical SOE Holding such as pharmacies or independent clinics.
