Hendy-Gus Firjaun Appeals To Supporters Not To Exaggerate Euphoria
JAKARTA - Candidates for the Regent and Deputy Regent of Jember Hendy Siswanto - M. Balya Firjaun Barlaman, who reportedly excels in the quick count version, urges supporters not to exaggerate euphoria and cause crowds due to the increase in COVID-19 cases in Jember Regency, East Java.
"We urge supporters and the success team not to carry out convoys and euphoric activities to celebrate the victory because it can cause a crowd that has the potential to spread COVID-19," Hendy said, launching Antara, Sunday, December 13.
He asked his supporters and volunteers not to hold excessive euphoric activities involving many people because of the COVID-19 Jember pandemic, so he was advised to comply with health protocols.
"I urge supporters, sympathizers and volunteers to use masks, wash their hands and keep their distance to break the chain of spreading the corona virus," he said.
Meanwhile, M. Balya Firjaun Barlaman asked the supporters of the Hendy-Gus Firjaun pair to stay at home and not be overly euphoric.
"My supporters urge to stay at home and multiply the dhikr, so there is no need to do unnecessary celebratory things," he said.
The Hendy-Gus Firjaun pair admitted that they would still wait for the results of the recapitulation of the vote count carried out by the election organizers in stages up to the district level which will be held on December 15, 2020.
Previously, the results of the quick count of the Indonesian Survey Circle Denny JA placed Hendy-Firjaun as the winner with a landslide advantage, namely 47.95 percent support, while the incumbent regent candidate Faida who was paired with Dwi Arya Nugraha Oktavianto (Faida-Vian) received 30 support, 41 percent and the pair Abdus Salam - Ifan Ariadna (Salam - Ifan) got 21.64 percent votes.
Meanwhile, the data for the Jember KPU Sirekap from Saturday night to 23.41 WIB recorded that 2,454 polling stations from 4,752 polling stations (51.64 percent) were recorded, with the result of candidate pair number 1, Faida-Vian, of 32.3 percent.
Then the candidate pair number 2, Hendy - Gus Firjaun, got 45.9 percent of the votes, and the pair number 3, namely Salam - Ifan, got 21.8 percent.
