After The Super Busy Week, Jokowi And Mrs. Iriana Chose Weekends In Surakarta
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo and First Lady Iriana arrived at the Adi Soemarmo Air Force Base, Boyolali Regency, Central Java, Friday night to spend the night in Surakarta.
The President arrived after a flight of approximately three hours and 50 minutes from Bangkok, Thailand, after attending a series of activities at the Asia Pacific Summit for Economic Cooperation (APEC Summit), based on a statement from the Press, Media and Information Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat received in Jakarta, Saturday, November 19 morning.
Also welcoming Jokowi and Iriana were Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo and his wife, Military Commander IV Diponegoro Major General TNI Widi Prasetijono and his wife, and Central Java Police Chief Inspector General Pol. Ahmad Luthfi.
Also accompanying Jokowi and Iriana on the flight were Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung.
While in Thailand, President Jokowi attended a dinner with APEC leaders, APEC Summit sessions, to a number of dialogues.
On the sidelines of the APEC Summit, President Jokowi also held a bilateral meeting with New Zealand Prime Minister (PM) Jacinda Ardern, Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee, and Saudi Arabian Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman.
At APEC Summit, Jokowi encouraged APEC economic leaders to strengthen concrete cooperation in dealing with global crises, ranging from food crises, energy crises, environmental crises, to recession threats.
He also encouraged the realization of the "APEC Food Security Roadmap Forwards 2030" to ensure food security through innovative technology and digitization, increase the productivity and efficiency of the food system, as well as inclusive and sustainable policies.
Meanwhile, at the APEC Leaders Informal Dialogue session with a number of invitations, Jokowi stated that two priority sectors were to encourage efforts to restore the global economy, namely building a more resilient supply chain and creative industry cooperation as a source of new growth.
