Discipline Of Surabaya Residents Decreased In The Implementation Of Health Protocols
JAKARTA - The Surabaya City COVID-19 Handling Acceleration Task Force noticed an indication of decreased discipline in implementing health protocols among residents in the capital city of East Java Province.
"If we pay attention, the discipline of residents is starting to decline now. Hence, we appeal to business actors, workplaces and places of worship to make each independent task force effective again in order to break the chain of spreading COVID-19 in Surabaya," said Deputy Secretary IV of the Task Force. Surabaya City of Surabaya's COVID-19 Handling Acceleration Irvan Widyanto in Surabaya, reported by Antara, Saturday, December 12.
The Head of the Surabaya Linmas Disaster Management Agency (BPB) also appealed to all residents of the City of Surabaya to continue to be disciplined in carrying out health protocols, namely by continuing to wear masks, keep your distance and always wash your hands regularly.
Because, he continued, recently residents have started to socialize and gather among each other. "Well, when they get together there must be something to eat and then take off the mask. When they take off the mask they then enjoy chatting so that sometimes they forget the time. This is what must be anticipated too," he said.
According to him, in everyday socializing, sometimes trivial things can become an intermediary for the spread of COVID-19. In fact, he said, habits that are considered normal can actually become a factor in the rapid spread of COVID-19.
In addition, he said, his party also explained that to prevent the spread of COVID-19, 3C must be avoided, namely closed spaces or closed spaces with low ventilation, crowded places or places that are crowded with people or crowds, and close contact settings or close contacts such as close conversation.
In addition, one must also pay attention to VDJ, namely ventilation, duration, and distance. The more the VDJ factor is maintained, the lower the risk of spreading COVID-19. Conversely, when the three VDJ factors overlap, the risk of spreading is very high.
"So, let's avoid 3C and pay attention to VDJ," he said.
He also reminded all parties, especially residents of the City of Surabaya, not to be lax in maintaining and obeying health protocols that had been in place since the beginning of the pandemic.
"We must not be lax in maintaining health protocols. In our opinion, the best vaccine is behavior change with unusual habits, in that way, God willing, COVID-19 in Surabaya will be over soon," he said.
