Police Check Rizieq, Fadli Zon: Hopefully There Is Justice And Civilization

JAKARTA - High Imam of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Rizieq Shihab is still carrying out investigations at the Metro Jaya Regional Police Headquarters since 10.30 WIB. He is examined as a suspect in a case of violation of health protocols.

Responding to this investigation, Gerindra Party politician Fadli Zon asked the public to pay attention to the case that ensnared the FPI leader and hope for justice and civility.

"Let's watch the nation's journey in the future, starting from here. Hopefully there is justice and civility," said Fadli in his Twitter account @fadlizon, Saturday, December 12.

Furthermore, this member of the DPR RI also prayed for Rizieq, who he considered a brave cleric amidst slander and hypocrisy.

"I pray for Habib Rizieq Syihab, a brave cleric who speaks out the truth amidst slander, hypocrisy and barbarity," he said.

Today, Rizieq arrived at around 10:20 WIB at the General Criminal Directorate Building at Polda Metro Jaya using a silver Mitsubishi Pajero. He appeared to be accompanied by a number of people, including the General Secretary of FPI Munarman.

Before entering, he had mentioned that he was in good health and ready to take part in the examination according to the laws and regulations. Meanwhile, when asked about his detention and his attitude towards the article which became the basis for his determination as a suspect, Rizieq was reluctant to answer further.

"We don't know yet. What is important is that I have an investigation regarding the crowd," he said.

Regarding this investigation, the Head of the Public Relations Division of Polda Metro Jaya Police Commissioner Yusri Yunus ensured that Rizieq was still accompanied by his legal team. In addition, he also ensured that no rights were ignored by his party.

"Yes, for sure, lawyers have also been there. The point is that we have given rights, we have given them food, drink, and prayers," said Yusri.

He said that Rizieq had performed the noon prayer while undergoing an examination. All activities in the examination, he continued, were carried out in accordance with the health protocol.

"Yes, obviously (rights are given, red) such as midday prayers have been prepared according to health protocols, food, drinks have also been prepared," he said.
