DuckDuckGo Has A Better App Tracking Protection Tool From Apple
JAKARTA - DuckDuckGo is reportedly bringing App Tracking Protection or Application Tracking Protection tool for Android to the open beta version. This feature was previously based on the waiting list, only a few users were able to try it out.
DuckDuckGo is one of the world's most famous anti-tracking services, with the App Tracking Protection feature, users on Android can now take advantage of this technology.
The feature offers better security and privacy of their phones than other app trackers and the like.
The company said the feature was already helpful in securing someone's information for their discretion, barring other apps from tracking users' smartphones, processes, apps, and other data they want to keep in secret.
Launching 9to5Google, Thursday, November 17, what makes this feature preferable to blocking full tracking is that this feature allows the app to work as usual, without disrupting their suite of features.
For example, most apps require location tracking to take advantage of certain app features. If the user blocks the location service, the app won't work as expected.
However, with DuckDuckGo App Tracking Protection, users can let the app function fully but cut all communications to third-party data suppliers.
DuckDuckGo also claims its services are stronger than Apple's original Ask App Not to Track feature, which focuses on iOS and iPadOS protection.
The Apple feature blocks app trackers on iOS devices, as long as users set their preferences. But what DuckDuckGo offers, users get a deeper view of who takes their data and where it comes from in real-time.
In beta, the new DuckDuckGo feature is fully available to anyone who wants to try it for free.
