Former Kabareskrim Down Mount, Calls Ismail Bolong Video Easy To Induce Criminally

Former Head of Criminal Investigation Unit (Kabareskrim) Komjen Pol (Ret.) Ito Sumardi urged the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo to investigate criminally the alleged coordination money for illegal coal mining activities in East Kalimantan which circulated through a video confession of Ismail Bolong.

"Essentially, the National Police Chief must order to be thoroughly investigated. All legal sanctions, there are legal sanctions, there are criminal sanctions, anyone involved. Moreover, members of the National Police, are subject to a code of ethics and are also subject to criminal charges," said Ito when confirmed in Jakarta, Thursday, November 17.

According to Ito, cases of alleged illegal mining Ismail Bolong can be upgraded to the investigation stage or processed criminally.

"It's very possible, this is an investigation," he said.

Because, the alleged illegal mining coordination fund Ismail Bolong was strengthened by the circulation of the investigation report (LHP) which was stated by the letterhead of the Professional and Security Division (Div Propam), where the investigation began in February and was completed in April 2022.

"If the investigation is an information and then investigated, the people involved are examined there. If it is proven, it will become a fact. The facts become an investigation. So the entry into the realm of law, explained the criminal law," he explained.

This case began with the circulation of a video confession of Aiptu (Ret.) Ismail Bolong, a former member of the Intelligence and Security Unit of the Samarinda Police, East Kalimantan who claimed to have given coordination money to the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police, Komjen Pol. Agus Andrianto.

Shortly after the first video circulated in early November, Ismail Bolong's video was circulating on social media containing rebuttal or clarification that he had never given coordination money to the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit, Komjen Pol. Agus Andrianto, at the same time apologized, because the first video was made at the pressure of Hendra Kurniawan, who at that time served as Karo Paminal of the Police Propam Division.

The former Indonesian Ambassador to Myanmar said it was easy to prove the video of Ismail Bolong's confession of giving money to the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit, Komjen Pol. Agus Andrianto is right or not.

In the confession video, said Ito, Ismail Bolong admitted that he gave the money directly to the Kabareskrim room. This can be seen from the CCTV camera footage.

"If he goes directly to Pak Agus, I myself don't say it's impossible, but the possibility is a bit small," he said.

However, he continued, this could be proven by matching Ismail Bolong's statement that he handed over the money on what day, what time the month was, and where. Everything can be checked through CCTV footage at the Police Criminal Investigation Unit.

"Because it's really easy, when we meet, when, what time and where, there is CCTV. Just look at the CCTV, right in February Ismail Bolong. Just look at what date there is, what time is there CCTV, just check it," he said.

If this is not proven, continued Ito, then Ismail Bolong can be prosecuted legally for slander against Kabareskrim Komjen Pol. Agus Andrianto, spread false news and unpleasant acts as regulated in Article 310, Article 332 of the Criminal Code and the ITE Law.

"I demand him. My question is, if he (Ismail Bolong) is not prosecuted, what's the question, why and what's wrong? If I'm not proven, I don't feel like I'm demanding Ismail Bolong. That's a violation of the law," he said.

He said Ismail Bolong could be convicted of the Criminal Law and the ITE Law with video recording evidence claiming to have given Rp6 billion to Kabareskrim three times, each Rp2 billion.

To remove doubts and question marks in the community, Ito advised the National Police Chief to follow up on the issue of alleged illegal mining that was conveyed by Ismail Bolong must be thoroughly investigated.

"If I personally, for example, I am Mr. Kabareskrim who really doesn't accept it, I demand it, Ismail. So the public doesn't ask again what kind of case, later there will be a hidden voice," said Ito.
