The Ministry Of PUPR Targets The Construction Of The Tamblang Dam In Bali Rampung At The End Of This Year
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) through the Directorate General of Water Resources at the Bali River Basin Center (BWS) continues to spur the completion of the Tamblang Dam construction in Buleleng, Bali, this year.
The construction of the dam itself has entered its final stage with physical progress reaching 89.1 percent on November 6, 2022, or faster than the plan of 88 percent.
The dam, which is projected to have a capacity of 7.6 million m3, can be initial filling (impsounding) by the end of 2022, so that it can be immediately used to meet irrigation water needs covering an area of 588 hectares in the Irrigation Area (DI) of Bungkulan and Bulian.
The Minister of PUPR, Basuki Hadimuljono, said that the construction of dams and irrigation continues to support sustainable agricultural production.
"The presence of the dam also has the potential for raw water, energy, flood control, and tourism that will grow the local economy," Basuki said in a written statement, Wednesday, November 16.
Furthermore, said Basuki, Tamblang Dam has the potential to provide raw water with a discharge of 510 liters/second, adding electricity reserves (PLTM) of 0.54 MW, flood control, conservation areas, and new tourism potential in northern Bali.
"The construction of this dam is expected to increase the number of water reservoirs in Bali Province, which are famous for a number of international standard tourism destinations," he added.
For your information, Tamblang Dam is the dam with the first asphalt core built in Indonesia using technology (Asphalt Core Concrete Embankment Dam - ACCED). This technology can be an example for dam construction in Indonesia because it is cheaper and more stable.
Tamblang Dam is a Zonal Inti Tegak type dam with a length of 260 meters and a peak height of 70 meters, equipped with a horseshoe tunnel type tunnel with a diameter of 4.50 meters, and a length of 3.55 meters. The source of the dam water comes from Tukad Daya with an inundation area of 35.85 hectares.
As one of the National Strategic Projects (PSN) set by President Joko Widodo, the Tamblang Dam began work in 2018 at a cost of around IDR 793 billion.
Construction of the dam is carried out by contractor PT Pembangunan Perumahan (PP) Adijaya (KSO), which includes entrances, inspection roads, facility buildings, spillway buildings, main dams (main dams), take-in buildings, and repulsing tunnels.
