JAKARTA - PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk has prepared IDR 15.1 trillion in cash to meet people's needs during December 2020, especially during the Christmas and New Year 2021 holidays.

This allocation fell by 8.2 percent from last year's period, because the COVID-19 pandemic is expected to reduce public spending in this period.

Bank Mandiri Corporate Secretary Rudi As Aturridha explained in a statement that most of the cash allocation was prepared to meet the cash withdrawal needs of the public at ATM machines.

"The need for cash remains for retail transactions that have not used non-cash payment instruments, such as when buying food or drinks at a shop," he said.

He added that his party has anticipated the peak of the increase in customer transactions on December 16-31 2020 so that the ATM filling limit will be optimized for that period.

"We increase the frequency of machine maintenance or preventive maintenance in the holiday period so that ATM machines are always ready to serve customer needs, with a focus on rest areas, shopping centers, hotels, airports, stations, ports, gas stations, churches and tourist attractions," Rudi was quoted as saying. from Antara, Friday 11 December.

According to the plan, the preventive maintenance process will be carried out at 955 ATM machines located in various main locations. Meanwhile, the total number of Bank Mandiri ATMs is currently recorded at 13,176 machines connected to the ATM Link network, ATM Bersama, ATM Prima and Visa / Plus throughout Indonesia.

In addition to the ATM network, he added, his party has also set up an electronic banking network, such as Mandiri Online, SMS Banking and Call Center 14000 facilities to help customers make financial transactions, including payment of monthly obligations.

"The Mandiri Online application, for example, is now able to serve almost all customer transactions such as fund transfers, account opening, blocking and unblocking, monitoring of fund transfers, and payment transactions, including QRIS scanning," he said.

All 24-hour online services provide facilities in the form of account information, transfer transactions, payment transactions for electricity, water, telephone / mobile phones, credit cards, airplane and train tickets, taxes, education, insurance, subscription television, internet, or purchase of credit refills. .

Especially during the Christmas holiday period of 24-27 December 2020, Bank Mandiri will also operate as many as 160 branches throughout Indonesia in turn to provide limited services, including payment for delivery orders by Pertamina gas stations and weekend banking services.

Meanwhile, for the New Year holiday period 31 December 2020-3 January 2021, as many as 214 branches will be operated alternately to provide similar services.
