KPK: OTT Juliari Batubara Not Related To Politics
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) emphasized that a series of hand arrest (OTT) operations against Juliari Batubara when he was Minister of Social Affairs was purely law enforcement. Not related to his position in the party.
It is known that Juliari Batubara, the suspect in the bribery of social assistance funds, is a cadre from PDI Perjuangan. In addition, he also served as deputy general treasurer of the party.
"We need to emphasize, the cases handled by the KPK are purely law enforcement, not about the socio-political background of the perpetrators," said Acting KPK spokesman for prosecution Ali Fikri when contacted by reporters, Friday, December 11.
He emphasized that in this case, the KPK had preliminary evidence in the form of allegations of money received by Juliari Batubara as a state official. The money is from a quote of IDR 10,000 from each basos package that will be given to the people due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Jabodetabek.
Then, did the money from Juliari's bribe flow to his party? The KPK has not been able to conclude that. Because, said Ali, this case is still being investigated. So that further examination is still being carried out.
"Regarding the flow, of course this is the investigative material that will continue to be extracted and confirmed from the witnesses who will be summoned and examined by the investigating team," he said.
In the Juliari Batubara case, he was named a suspect for accepting bribes. The bribe received by Juliari was IDR 17 billion. The money was received by July in two stages. First he received a bribe worth Rp8.2 billion, part of which had been used for personal needs.
The second revenue was IDR 8.8 billion. This money was obtained from a social assistance quote that was carried out for the October-December 2020 period.
Apart from Juliari, the KPK also named four other suspects, namely the Commitment Making Officer at the Ministry of Social Affairs (PPK) Matheus Joko Santoso and Adi as the recipient of the bribe and AIM and HS as the bribe giver.
KPK charged Juliari with Article 12 letter a or Article 12 letter b or Article 11 of the Corruption Eradication Law in conjunction with Article 55 Paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code.
Meanwhile, MJS and AW are suspected of violating Article 12 letter a or Article 12 letter b or Article 11 and Article 12 (i) of the Corruption Eradication Law in conjunction with Article 55 Paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code.
Then, as the giver of bribes, namely AIM and HS, were suspected of violating Article 5 Paragraph (1) letter or Article 5 Paragraph (1) letter b or Article 13 of the Law on the Eradication of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 Paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code. .
