Opening The G20 Summit, President Jokowi Speeched With The Food Crisis Warning

BALI (President Joko Widodo) officially opened the G20 Summit in front of the delegation leader. In his speech, the President immediately said that the current global conditions were filled with various turmoil.

The world is currently experiencing extraordinary challenges, crisis after crisis is taking place, the COVID-19 pandemic is not over yet, rivalry continues to sharpen, war occurs. The impact of the crisis occurred on food security, energy and finance," he said in Nusa Dua, Bali on Tuesday, November 15.

The Head of State then highlighted the food problem which he now considers to be in a vulnerable situation. In fact, if all countries do not take adequate treatment, it will worsen the situation soon.

"If we don't take steps so that the availability of fertilizers is sufficient and the price is affordable, then 2023 will be a gloomy year," he said.

The President added that high fertilizer prices pose a serious threat to the sustainability of food supplies.

"High fertilizer prices can make it worse and there is a food crisis, crop failure in various parts of the world and this condition is very serious," he stressed.
