Meeting Ursula Von Der Leyen, Jokowi Tagih, Investment Realization Of European Investment Bank In Indonesia

NUSA DUA - Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in his meeting with European Commission President Ursula Von Der Leyen pushed for the realization of the European Investment Bank investment plan in Indonesia.

"I welcome the support of the European Commission for the G20 Indonesia Presidency and encourage the realization of energy transition cooperation, including the European Investment Bank investment plan in Indonesia," President Jokowi said in a press statement quoted by Antara, as uploaded on the Presidential Secretariat Youtube, Monday, November 14 night.

The bilateral meeting between Jokowi and Ursula was held on Monday ahead of the summit of the G20 Summit on Tuesday 15 November.

Jokowi also revealed that he to Ursula was pushing for the progress of the Indonesia-Europe Union Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IU-CEPA) negotiations.

The President of the Republic of Indonesia also expressed his concern over trade discrimination against Indonesian products. In addition, Jokowi also invited the European Union to become a peace partner in the Indo Pacific.

Meanwhile, according to the Press Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat, Ursula appreciated Indonesia's leadership in the G20 which continues to strive to formulate a joint solution to the global crisis. Indonesia is seen as a trusted partner on various strategic issues including renewable energy and food security.
