It Takes Rp780 Trillion To Work On The 22 GW Capacity EBT Generation, Indonesia Make It Easier For Investors To Plant Capital
JAKARTA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Arifin Tasrif revealed, within the next 10 years Indonesia will need funds of US$ 50 billion or equivalent to Rp. 780 trillion. This amount is needed to build a new renewable energy (EBT) power plant with a total capacity of 22 GW.
Although expensive, building an EBT-based power plant is one way to accelerate the energy transition process and pursue a net zero emission target by 2060.
"Because the EBT plant is certainly a generator without carbon emissions," said Arifin in a written statement while attending the B20 Dialogue on Advancing Innovative, Inclusive and Colamborative Growth in Nusa Dua Bali, quoted Monday, November 14.
With this great cost, Arifin explained that the government must make it easier for investors to invest in the EBT generating sector. Especially by making policies and regulations that make it easier and able to make investors interested in investing.
For example, Presidential Regulation Number 112 of 2022 concerning the Acceleration of Renewable Energy Development for the Provision of Electricity which was only ratified last September. Then there is also the Draft Law (RUU) on New Energy and Renewable Energy (EBET) which is currently still being discussed.
"So this is a very good opportunity for the business community to come and collaborate in building greener energy," continued Arifin.
Just so you know, the Government through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources also continues to encourage the acceleration of the development of environmentally friendly power plants based on EBT to increase national electricity supply.
