The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Is Looking For The Origin Of The Bribe Money Which Is Suspected To Have Been Received By The Unila Chancellor.

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) continues to investigate the receipt of money by the inactive Lampung University (Unila) Chancellor Karomani. The investigation was carried out by examining two witnesses, one of whom was a lecturer named Mualimin.

Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri said Mualimin and Head of the Planning and Public Relations Bureau of Unila Budi Suditomo were questioned on Friday, November 11 yesterday. Both have been questioned regarding the alleged bribery of accepting new students.

"The two witnesses were present and their knowledge was related, among others, to the flow of money received by KRM suspects from various parties," Ali told reporters, Monday, November 14.

Ali did not specify how much money was being investigated. However, the statements of the two will be opened in court.

Moreover, Mualimin is one of the lecturers called the KPK who also collected Rp603 million from the Unila student admission process through independent channels.

Previously, the KPK named four suspects for alleged bribery for accepting new students at the University of Lampung in 2022. The determination of this suspect began with a hand arrest operation carried out in Lampung, Bandung, and Bali.

The suspects involved in this case are the Chancellor of the University of Lampung 2020-2024 Karomani; Vice Chancellor I for Academic Affairs of Lampung University Heryandi; Senate Chair of Lampung University Muhammad Basri; and private Andi Desfiandi.

In this case, Karomani allegedly set a price for prospective new students on campus who registered through the Selection of Independent Entrance to Lampung University (Simanila). The price range varies, ranging from Rp. 100 million to Rp. 350 million.
