Barcelona Always Opens Doors For Lionel Messi, Laporta Said
JAKARTA - Barcelona president, Joan Laporta, has returned to talk about the possibility of Lionel Messi returning to Camp Nou. He said, Barcelona has always been home to Messi.
Messi left Camp Nou in August 2021 after the Catalan club experienced financial problems. He decided to join Paris Saint-Germain.
Since then, speculation about Messi's return to Camp Nou has continued to blow. However, lately this news is heating up after the Argentine's contract is about to expire.
Messi will be free of transfer if he chooses not to sign a new contract which is reportedly offered by the club management of the French capital.
Will Messi return to Barcelona? Until now no one knows. However, Laporta insists, the door at his club is always open to the player.
"Leo knows that he always has a house in Barcelona," Laporta said as quoted by Sport, Sunday, November 13.
However, Laporta added that he did not want to talk about Messi because currently the 35-year-old is a player from another club. According to him, it will only have a bad impact on the Blaugrana.
"He has a contract with European clubs at this time. I can only say Leo has become the best player in Barcelona's history," Laporta said.
