Victims Of The Papuan KKB Shooting In Gome Dievacuation District To Timika
JAKARTA - Chief Sergeant Iskan Dwi Wardana, a soldier who suffered gunshot wounds as a result of being attacked by the Papuan KKB while patrolling around Yenggernok Village, Gome District, Puncak Regency, Central Papua, Sunday (13/11), was evacuated to Timika.
The victim, who suffered a gunshot wound to his right thigh, was evacuated using a Caracal helicopter, said Dandim 1714 Puncak Jaya Lt. Col. Indeni Salurerung to Antara, Sunday.
When contacted from Jayapura, Dandim Puncak Jaya, whose territory included Puncak Regency, said that from the reports he received, the victim was injured after being shot by members of the Papuan KKB while patrolling.
"The condition of the victim is stable and has received medical treatment at the Ilaga Health Center," explained Lt. Col. Inf Deni.
Regarding the perpetrators of the attack, Dandim Puncak Jaya said that from reports from soldiers in the field, the perpetrator of the shooting was the Papuan KKB led by Numbuk Telenggen.
An armed criminal group (KKB), Sunday (13/11) at around 11.37 WIT, attacked a patrol by security forces, resulting in a soldier named Serka Iskan Dwi Wardana reportedly suffering a gunshot wound to the right thigh.
"The attack occurred when the soldiers were around Yenggernok Village, Gome District, Puncak Regency, Central Papua," said Lt. Col. Inf Deni.
