Indonesia-China Export Cooperation Technology 1 Million Ton Palms And Derivative Products

JAKARTA - Indonesian business actors signed trade cooperation with China to export as much as 1 million tons of palm oil and its derivatives. The realization of the contract took effect in 2023. Minister of Trade (Mendag) Zulkifli Hasan revealed that the signing of this cooperation was a follow-up to a bilateral meeting between the two countries at the end of last July, on China's commitment to buy 1 million CPO products and Indonesian agricultural and fishery products. "Congratulations on the signing of the MoU between Indonesian associations and RRT. I hope this signing can be realized in a tangible form to increase exports of CPO products and their derivatives to the RRT," he said at the Ministry of Industry Building, Friday, November 11. On that occasion, Zulhas, Zulkifli Hasan's nickname also asked for assistance from the Ministry of Trade of China in an effort to handle exports of Indonesian products to China. "And the ease of assistance to enter the RRT market. We also hope for the support and role of the Chinese government in increasing balanced trade cooperation that is mutually beneficial and sustainable for the interests of the two countries," he said. Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Indonesian Institute of Medicine Industry Association (GIMNI), Gunawan Siregar said that this cooperation contract also followed up on President Joko Widodo's visit to China in July 2022. Where Indonesia is committed to meeting China's needs for palm oil and derivative products as much as 1 million tons. "We will see its development in the future how, hopefully, it will increase," he said.

Gunawan said the palm oil companies that signed this trade contract were only companies that were members of the association, namely; Association of Indonesian Vegetable Oil Industries (GIMNI), Association of Indonesian Palm Oil Entrepreneurs (GAPKI), Association of Indonesian Food Oil Industries (AIMMI), and Association of Oleochemical Indonesia Manufacturers (APOLI). The existence of this trade contract, continued Gunawan, further strengthens the bilateral trade relationship between Indonesia-China. In addition, foreign exchange of palm oil exports and their derivative products will automatically increase. "We hope that the economy in Indonesia will improve in the plantation sector," said Gunawan.
