COVID-19 Update As Of December 10: 31,984 Specimens Examined, Resulting In 6,033 New Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 31,984 specimens were examined with the results of 6,033 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulated positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia reached 598,933 people," he was quoted as saying from data from the Ministry of Health, Thursday, December 10.

Today's cases increased by 4,530, so that a total of 491,975 people recovered. Then, the confirmed positive cases who died increased by 165 people and a total of 18,336 people.

The province with the most new cases was in DKI Jakarta with 1,180 new cases and a total of 149,018 cases. DKI Jakarta is also the province with the most accumulated cases in Indonesia.

Followed by Central Java which has 998 new cases with a total of 63,610 cases. West Java has 960 new cases and a total of 63,043 cases. Then, East Java has 796 new cases and a total of 67,613 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an increase of 1,042 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an increase of 783 recovered cases, East Java with an increase of 673 recovered cases, and Central Java with an increase of 635 recovered cases.

Then, there is 1 province that reported no new cases today. The province is Gorontalo.

In addition, the number of specimens examined reached 6,200,252. In detail, as many as 6,091,532 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 108,720 using molecular rapid tests (TCM).

"The number of positive results per number of specimens examined (positivity rate) was 14.3 percent," he wrote.

Finally, for the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 66,463 people. Currently, 510 districts / cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.
