COVID-19 XBB Variant Confirmed Enter Central Java, Ganjar Asks Citizens To Tighten Prokes

Central Java (Central Java) Governor Ganjar Pranowo asked the public to tighten the implementation of health protocols to prevent an increase in COVID-19 patients.

This was conveyed by Ganjar in response to the increase in COVID-19 cases in Central Java as many as 19 cases. Including COVID-19 patients with the XBB variant.

"Health protocols need to be tightened again in line with booster vaccinations and also being rushed to areas that are diligent in vaccinating," he said, confiscated by Antara.

According to him, there are actually two tightening, namely the use of masks and injection of booster or booster vaccines.

"For the acceleration of boosters, we are reallocating to help regencies that are a bit diligent in booster vaccinations. Yesterday Alhamdulillah, we sent again for boosters, now we are boosted," he said.

Ganjar emphasized that the public will remain safe if they apply strict health protocols even though a new variant of the XBB Omicron appears.

"God willing, if people are disciplined, get together like this and wear masks, hopefully it's safe," he said.

Head of the Central Java Provincial Health Office, Yunita Dyah Suminar, added that six patients were identified as XBB variants in Central Java. All of these patients came from Semarang, Jepara, and Grobogan.

Based on corona.jatengprov.go.id data as of Wednesday 9 November at 17.00 WIB, there were 3,440 active COVID-19 cases or an increase of 394 cases from the previous one.
