Students In Cengkareng, West Jakarta, Arrested By Sharp Weapons

JAKARTA - The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cengkareng Police has arrested a student carrying sharp weapons on Jalan Kamal Raya, Cengkareng, West Jakarta. The perpetrator was arrested when he was suspected by the police for riding three times with other fellow students while passing.

"Initially we stopped a group of students with three rides, the students tried to escape. We chased and we managed to catch one student," said Cengkareng Police Chief Kompol Ardhie Demastyo when confirmed, Thursday, November 10.

When arrested and searched, the police found a sharp weapon stored by the perpetrator in his body.

"We got (sajam) inside the arrested student's body. We found a sharp weapon tucked in the student's trousers," he said.

For further processing, the student was taken to the Cengkareng Police Headquarters.

"Students who were caught carrying sharp weapons, we took them to the Cengkareng Police for further questioning. We also dispersed students who were suspected of being involved in a brawl," he said.
