Rizieq Shihab And 5 Other People Are Also Suspects Of The Petamburan Crowd At Najwa Shihab's Wedding

JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya has not only named the leader of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) M Rizieq Shihab as a suspect in violating health protocols in a crowd at Petamburan at the wedding ceremony of his daughter, Najwa Shihab. There are also five people who are suspects in the same case.

"From the results of the case title, there were six suspects named. The MRS organizer, the HU committee, the committee secretary brother A, brother MS as the person in charge of security, the five SL as the person in charge of the event, the six HI brothers were the head of the event section," said the Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro. Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus at the Jakarta Police Headquarters, Thursday, December 10.

The case of the Rizieq crowd in Petamburan has been investigating since some time ago. The police suspect that there is a criminal element related to Article 160 of the Criminal Code and or Article 93 of Law Number 6 of 2018 concerning Health Quarantine and Article 216 of the Criminal Code.

The determination of the suspect Rizieq Shihab was born from the process of investigating the alleged violation of the health protocol (prokes) at the wedding ceremony of Rizieq Shihab's daughter, Najwa Shihab. The case title in this case was carried out after the investigator conducted a series of witness examinations and the collection of evidence, although there were several witnesses who were not present at the summons for examination.

Witnesses who were not present in the series of examinations included Rizieq Shihab and Hanif Alatas, who are Rizieq's sons-in-law. They failed to fulfill two summons on December 1 and 7.

Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) lawyer Aziz Yanuar said Rizieq's absence at the first examination was because he was still in the process of recovering his condition.

"Still resting, we know that he just returned from the UMMI Hospital, Bogor after resting there so he is still recovering," said Aziz.

Meanwhile, the reason for his absence from the second summons, Aziz said, the FPI Grand Priest still needs time for his condition to fully recover, while he is carrying out activities that cannot be abandoned.
