Consisting On Development, The Minister Of Youth And Sports Makes Naturalization A Short-Term Need

JAKARTA - Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Zainudin Amali emphasized that the naturalization program for players is a short-term need. He said, coaching remains the foundation to form a strong Indonesian national team.

This was conveyed by the Minister of Youth and Sports in a meeting with Commission X of the DPR in Senayan, Tuesday, November 8, 2022. At that meeting, Commission X of the DPR approved the naturalization program for Shayne Pattynama.

"So we don't rely on naturalization (long term), naturalization is short term," said the Menpora as quoted from the ministry's official website, Wednesday, November 9.

The Minister of Youth and Sports said naturalization was needed for urgent needs. Among other things, to strengthen the national team at the FIFA Matchday event to boost Indonesia's ranking.

However, the Minister of Youth and Sports reiterated that the long-term programs of the Indonesian government and also PSSI are coaching.

"We still rely on coaching because our talents are not lacking, the academies at these clubs also provide guidance," said Amali.

"This is our commitment, our commitment to PSSI. Even now as a manifestation of that commitment, for early childhood development, PSSI and Kemenpora work together to conduct coaching courses for former national team players," he continued.

This training, said the Menpora, took place in Bali. Later these coaches are expected to be able to produce the seeds of future Indonesian national team players.
