Unexpected Reaction Of Mrs. Shakira On Pension Decree Gerard Pique
JAKARTA - Shakira's mother, Nadia Ripoll, responded to the decision of her ex-son's husband, Gerard Pique, who decided to retire from football last weekend.
Pique announced his retirement on Friday, November 4 before his last match when Barcelona hosted Almeria in the 13th week of La Liga Spain at the Camp Nou Stadium, Sunday, November 6.
Pique retired after playing 616 games for Barcelona, scoring 53 goals, winning three Champions League trophies, and eight Spanish La Liga titles.
The Spanish player's decision immediately caused a stir in football. However, for Ripoll, Pique would have thought carefully before ending his career in football.
"Yes, I don't know anything and I imagine that if he decides to retire it means he has thought carefully with whatever he wants to decide. That's all," Ripoll said, reported by Music Mundial, Tuesday, November 8.
Pique and his ex-partner Shakira have made headlines since announcing their separation in June 2022. The couple divorced after a 12-year love affair.
Their separation is suspected to be due to infidelity. However, there is also information that the two of them cannot continue their domestic relations due to financial problems.
According to journalist Adriana Dorronsoro, Shakira has also recently been very angry after her ex-husband did not visit her father, William Mebarak, who was sick.
Currently Mebarak is battling health problems at a clinic in Barcelona. Initially there were reports the former centre-back had visited Shakira's father, but the singer later denied the information.
"Shakira is very sad that Pique didn't go to his father and he didn't ask about his health either. He wanted to make it clear that Pique had not visited his father or asked about his health," said Dorronsoro.
