Acting Governor Heru Manut Decree Of The Minister Of Transportation Regarding The Cancellation Of The Plan For Acquisition Of PT KCI
JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono admitted that the DKI Provincial Government has complied with the central government's decision to cancel the plan to acquire PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KCI) by PT MRT Jakarta. In this case, the Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi has emphasized that KCI will merge with PT Moda Integrasi Transport Jabodetabek (MITJ) and not be acoquistous. PT MITJ is a joint venture formed by PT MRT and PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI)."We'll see. We follow the policy from the Minister of Transportation," said Heru when met at the DKI Jakarta DPRD Building, Tuesday, November 8.Some time ago, the Head of the Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, revealed the DKI Provincial Government's plan through the Jakarta MRT BUMD which plans to acquire PT KCI shares.Syafrin said that the plan to purchase 51 percent shares of PT KAI's subsidiary was President Joko Widodo's mandate regarding the integration of transportation modes in Jabodetabek."This is the mandate (in) the meeting (limited meeting) of the President, whose minutes already exist. This means that Jakarta continues to strive, like what the President has mandated for the acquisition of KCI," Syafrin told reporters, Thursday, September 29.However, on November 2, Budi Karya Sumadi confirmed that PT MITJ and PT KCI would merge or merge. This was said after reporting the results of a meeting with President Joko Widodo regarding the construction of mass public transportation in urban areas."“Later it will be discussed about the union or merger of MITJ with KCI, so it's not an acquisition once again," said Budi at the Presidential Palace.According to Budi, the management of rail transportation should be managed in one lemma so that there are no overlapping policies. Regarding the timing of the realization of this merger, Budi admitted that he could not confirm it."The time is of course based on the process rather than due diligence, BPKP assessment. The principle must be done, but we cannot neglect matters related to financial and legal matters," he explained.
