Hold Production Rate, Pertamina Hulu Mahakam Implements Technology Innovation
JAKARTA - PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM) which is included in the Kalimantan Subholding Upstream Region 8 Subholding Pertamina continues to encourage strategic steps in maintaining production and curbing the rate of decline in natural production in mature oil and gas fields in the Mahakam Working Area (WK).
General Manager of PHM, Krisna said that PHM applies various innovations and technological applications to increase the recovery rate of existing oil and gas wells so that they can continue to produce energy that is safe, reliable, obedient, environmentally friendly and sustainable.
"We continue to strive to curb the decline in natural production by implementing the best engineering practices in production operations, drilling, well intervention/well connection, maintenance/inspection works supported by the implementation of SUPREME in maintaining and increasing the reliability of PHM operations and production facilities," Krisna told the media quoted on Tuesday, November 8.
Krisna added that these strategic steps were also taken to meet the 2022 WP&B target given by SKK Migas, namely to achieve gas production of 550 MMscfd and production of 19.5 Kbbld Oil.
According to him, the provision of incentives from the Government of Indonesia in early 2021 has opened up opportunities for PHM to continue the work program for the development of Mahakam WK extensively including the new well exploration program.
"PHM plans to drill 95 development wells (exploitation) and 1 exploration well. We also managed to realize 24 tax wells in the first quarter of this year. This drilling target is expected to be able to encourage additional annual average production in 2022 of 3,951 BOPD for oil and 133 MMSCFD for gas," added Krisna.
The increase in PHM production certainly cannot be separated from the contribution of the Jumelai, North Sisi, North Nubi (JSN) project which was on stream on May 20, 2022.
The gas production from this project is estimated at 45 MMSCFD and the 710 BCD condensate (barel condensate per day).
Regarding this, Krisna explained that a fairly large production from Jumelai Field is one of the pillars of the current national oil and gas needs and the future is also a driving force for the Indonesian economy, especially in East Kalimantan Province.
On a separate occasion, the President Director of PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia, Chalid Said Salim said that the increase in PHM production was supported by the success of planning and implementation of the installation rejuvenation program carried out by PHM from May to June 2022.
The rejuvenation program and advanced installation inspections allow the new start-up of the Sisi Nubi wells to continue to contribute significantly to the achievement of the gas wellhead track rate above 550 MMscfd. The maintenance program is carried out optimally so as to reduce the potential for production loss or LPO (Loss of Production Opportunity) by 1.4 BCF," said Chalid.
This year, achievements at the PHM offshore area united in OPTIDRILL innovation managed to record the fastest drilling in the Mahakam area with a cost efficiency of more than 55 percent. This innovation uses side track preparation optimization from old cement rigidly with Hydraulic Workover Unit, rigless well complete optimization and optimization of reservoir data acquisition without Drill Pipe.
strategic steps taken by PHM to support efforts to maintain and increase production, as well as curb the decline in natural production, include the application of various innovations and technologies to increase the recovery rate of oil and gas wells, maintenance baseline, addition of new wells and massive well interventions.
In addition, PHM also minimizes shutdown and increases the integrity of production facilities and determines and monitors Driling Sequence as well as initial identification of matters that could disrupt drilling schedules.
Furthermore, PHM also continues to ensure that Project Construction/Modification Project is carried out with On Time, On Budget, On Spec, On Return (OTOMOSOR), increasing technical competence and HSSE for PWTT, TKJP, and Contract Service workers through various certifications, mandatory HSSE training, HSSE meetings, safety standing down, and upskilling as well as strengthening collaboration from various functions in PHM.
