Ahead Of The G20 Summit, The Economic Impacts Felt By The Republic Of Indonesia Reached IDR 7.4 Trillion!
JAKARTA - The government through the Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto said that Indonesia benefits quite a lot from the series of G20 events this year. According to him, the economic impact that Indonesia can feel is able to penetrate the trillions of rupiah.
"The study conducted states that gross domestic product (GDP) will be affected by IDR 7.4 trillion," he said when answering reporters' questions on Monday, November 7.
Airlangga explained that this value is an estimated calculation in the entire agenda of the meeting which will take place throughout 2022.
"For (spending) direct expenditure is not less than IDR 1.7 trillion," he explained.
Not only economic benefits in terms of economic valuation, he also revealed that the Group of 20 event in Indonesia is helping the government in accelerating the absorption of the workforce.
"Direct workers involved along with MSMEs can reach 33,000," he said.
Airlangga said Indonesia had successfully led up to 438 events. This number is even more than the number of days in a year which is only 365 days.
As for the peak agenda of the G20 Summit in mid-November in Bali, the National Committee has received registrations of up to 2,500 participants who are committed to attending.
There are 39 official delegates who participated in the Summit. 20 of them are member countries, nine countries are invitees, and 10 world institutions will go to Bali. This is certainly good for our economy," concluded Coordinating Minister Airlangga.
