Almost 20 Years Of Ruling PKS In Depok, Charta Politika Reveals Its Analysis
JAKARTA - Candidate for mayor and deputy mayor of Depok number 2, Mohammad Idris-Imam Budi Hartono is superior in the results of the quick count or quick count of the Depok 2020 Pilkada.
With this advantage, it means that PKS has been in power in Depok City for almost 20 years because in the 2006-2011 and 2011-2016 periods their cadre, Nur Mahmudi Ismail, also held the position of Mayor of Depok before finally being continued by Mohammad Idris.
Charta Politika researcher Dadang Nurjaman said PKS's victory for four consecutive terms in this city was due to the fact that this party was felt to have a strong base. In addition, Depok can be said to be the home for this party made by Ahmad Syaikhu.
"So PKS 'influence is still strong. That's all. I can say that Depok is PKS' home," said Dadang when met by VOI in South Jakarta, Wednesday, December 9.
In addition, PKS's ability to manage the grass roots is also one of the reasons why this party has consistently positioned its champion as mayor.
"Yes, I have to admit that the PKS team is superior in Depok, the supporters are good," he said.
"Depok has a level, not a high religiosity side but obedience to the party, obedience to the recitation group which is all managed by PKS," he added.
Not only that, the party's strength was also increasingly unrivaled when Depok residents had less sympathy for other parties. For example, sympathy for the PDI-P and the Gerindra Party.
"This means we can see, judge, the great power of PKS in Depok. So the party's influence is quite strong there," said Dadang.
Completing Dadang's statement, Executive Director of the Indonesia Political Review (IPR), Ujang Komarudin, assessed that PKS 'victory also occurred because they controlled various institutions in Depok City which were their base.
"Depok is the basis for PKS, starting from educational institutions, business, and others, PKS controls," he said.
