Print 2 Goals At Tottenham's Gawang, Mohamed Salah Quoted Jurgen Klopp As Best Striker Who Ever Existed
JAKARTA - Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp called Mohamed Salah one of the best strikers ever. He praised after becoming one of the Reds' winning stars against Tottenham Hotspur.
The Egyptian striker scored two winning goals in the first half when Liverpool narrowly won 2-1 over the hosts in week 15 of the English Premier League, Sunday, November 6 evening WIB.
"Everyone knows, when you look back at his career in four, five or six years, everyone will remember one of the best strikers you've ever seen as his number (goal) is really crazy," Klopp said.
The 30-year-old has had a goal crisis in the Reds' early campaign this season. That's because Salah played in a slightly wide position.
However, now he looks sharp again in front of the opponent's goal. Two goals against Spurs saw the former Chelsea player have scored nine goals for the Reds in his last eight appearances in all competitions.
"Even with the slow start (this season), he was involved in most chances in Europe. That could happen to a striker, this is a completely normal phase. What makes me happy the most is that he scored two goals," Klopp said.
The result against Spurs was Liverpool's first away win of the total five wins this season. However, the Reds are currently far from competing in the top four of the standings.
Currently, Klopp's team is still in eighth place in the standings with a collection of 19 points. They are seven points adrift of Spurs who are in the final position in the top four.
