Whoever Wins In The 2020 Pilkada, Entrepreneurs Just Want A Conducive Business Climate

JAKARTA - The business world hopes that the candidates elected in the 2020 Regional Head Election (Pilkada) will be able to raise the regional economy together with the business world. The elected regional leaders will also be asked to create a conducive business climate.

Chairman of the DPD Association of Indigenous Indonesian Entrepreneurs (HIPPI) DKI Jakarta, Sarman Simanjorang, said regional heads must have an entrepreneurial spirit capable of exploring various potentials in their region.

"The business world hopes that the elected regional head will be able to create a conducive business and investment climate with pro-business and pro-business policies," he said, in a written statement received by VOI, Wednesday, December 9.

Sarman said that the elected regional heads must also leave their comfort zone. Don't just rely on the APBD, according to Sarman, the leadership of a region must be able to promote the region.

"So that the attractiveness of investors into Indonesia is getting higher and it becomes an opportunity and opportunity for regional heads to promote their regional potential," he explained.

According to Sarman, the courage to bring investors to the regions will have a domino effect. Among them are boosting economic growth, adding jobs, and opening up business opportunities for MSMEs. This in turn will raise household consumption.

Not only that, said Sarman, the spirit of bureaucratic reform from the central government to the regions must be synergized and integrated. So that various business and investment licenses will be better and have certainty.

"National economic growth will quickly grow positively if it is supported by positive economic growth from the regions. With the synergy between the central and regional governments, it is hoped that it will be able to accelerate economic recovery amid the COVID-19 pandemic," he said.

For your information, the 2020 simultaneous regional elections that were held today, Wednesday, December 9 are historic elections. The reason is, this democratic party was held with the largest number of regions or involved 270 participating local governments, especially when it was held during the COVID-19 pandemic.

To hold the democratic party, the government has allocated a budget for the 2020 Pilkada of IDR 20.4 trillion or an increase from the original plan of IDR 15.23 trillion. This increase occurred due to the need for additional funds for health protocols during the Pilkada.
