Voters Post Photos Of Korean Artists In The Blank Column Of The Kediri Regional Election Ballot
JAKARTA - The Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) found a unique incident during the 2020 Pilkada voting. One of them was a voter who deliberately pasted a photo of a Korean artist in the blank column of the Kediri Regent and Deputy Regent election.
It is known that there is only one candidate pair for regional head in Kediri Regency, Hanindhito Himawan Pramana and his running mate Dewi Mariya Ulfa. In the ballot, Hanindhito's photo column is juxtaposed with an empty column. Hanindhito is the son of the Minister of State Secretary Pramono Anung.
"There are voters who put a picture in an empty column on a single candidate ballot. That is a photo of a Korean artist, I don't think I know either," said Bawaslu member Mochammad Afifuddin in the Bawaslu RI YouTube live broadcast, Wednesday, December 9.
Apart from that, Bawaslu also found that there were ballot papers that were checked using a pen by voters instead of punched, certificates of minutes were exchanged in Central Bangka Regency with West Coast District, and damaged logistics due to bad weather such as rain and floods.
"Those are some interesting incidents apart from specific incidents such as the discovery of arrests related to money politics and others. We will convey these later after the processes of clarification and examination are carried out," said Afif.
Regarding violations of money politics, Bawaslu received 109 reports and 96 findings. A total of 34 cases of suspicion of money politics were forwarded to investigators, 55 cases are still being processed by election supervisors, and 116 cases have been terminated.
