WSBK Mandalika 2022 Security: 25 Blocking Posts, 2,148 TNI-Polri Personnel Spread Throughout NTB
West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Police Chief Inspector General Djoko Poerwanto said as many as 2,148 joint personnel were deployed to secure the 2022 World Superbike (WSBK) at the Mandalika Circuit on 11-13 November.
"The number of personnel we have deployed in the implementation of Operation Mandalika III for the security of the 2022 WSBK event is 2,148 personnel," he said, in Mataram, NTB, quoted from Antara, Friday, November 4.
He explained that the personnel involved came from the NTB Police, Military Resort Command (Korem) 162/Wira Bhakti, and were under operational control (BKO) from the National Police Headquarters, Lampung Police, and Palembang Regional Police.
Djoko said the number of personnel involved in securing the 2022 WSBK will adjust the needs in the field.
"So, the number of security personnel that we deploy is still dynamic. Maybe later the number will change, it can increase by adjusting the needs during implementation," he said.
Of the number of personnel on duty, Djoko continued, not all of them were placed in the Mandalika Circuit area but were spread throughout the NTB area. Security is certain to start from the arrival point of the audience, both at ports and airports.
In addition, he said, there were those who carried out security duties on the highway which became access to the transportation of the spectators. They are scattered in duty at 25 blocking posts.
Traffic engineering in an effort to anticipate congestion has also been prepared by the NTB Regional Police. "I have ordered the traffic director so that how there are no wheels of vehicles that stop turning on the road," he added.
Djoko added that his party has prepared 20 security posts that have gathered joint TNI personnel, Polri, and related agencies, one of which is from health workers.
This security post is confirmed to be spread across all vital objects, both at ports, airports, spectator transit points, shopping centers, and tourist areas, especially on the island of Lombok.
"The point is that in this Mandalika III Operation we prioritize the safety of the people above all else," he said.
Djoko conveyed the online ticket sales data dated November 2, 2022. The number of tickets that have been sold is 18,337 tickets.
This extreme category motorcycle racing event will take place at the Mandalika Circuit from 11 to 13 November 2022.
