Firli Flyed To Jayapura To Meet Lukas Enembe, IM 57+ Institute: Why Not Considered Like Other Suspects?
JAKARTA - Former employee of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) who is a member of the Indonesia Calling (IM) 57+ Institute questioned the presence of KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri to Jayapura to meet Papua Governor Lukas Enembe.
The chairman of the IM 57+ Institute, M Praswad Nugraha, assessed that Lukas seemed to have received special treatment. The reason is that he was not forcibly picked up like other suspects when he was absent from the investigator's summons.
"Why is Lukas Enembe not treated the same as the other suspects who were absent and were not willing to come even though they had been summoned many times by the KPK," Praswad told reporters, Friday, November 4.
Praswad assessed that this action was not in accordance with the principles and code of ethics of the KPK, one of which was treating all Indonesian citizens equally before the law. In fact, this treatment can be a bad precedent.
He said, it is not impossible that the way Lukas will be followed by other suspects. They could reason that they even asked the head of the anti-corruption commission to meet them.
From this meeting, continued Praswad, it is not impossible that there will be further practices.
"Can be a joint venture with the KPK leadership," he said.
As previously reported, Firli Bahuri together with a team of KPK doctors and the Executive Board of the Indonesian Doctors Association (PB IDI) and investigators met with Lukas Enembe on Thursday, November 3. An examination related to the alleged corruption carried out by Lukas has also been carried out.
However, the examination was immediately completed at that time because of Lukas' health. At that time, he was sick and his condition had been examined by a team of doctors.
The presence of the KPK team with Firli Bahuri received negative attention. In this regard, the KPK ensures that there are no violations.
"The examination activity has a legal basis, namely Article 113 of the Criminal Procedure Code," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters, Friday, November 4.
In that article, said Ali, if a suspect or witness cannot attend for appropriate and reasonable reasons, investigators may conduct an examination at his residence. Moreover, the presence of Firli and the team is a form of seriousness in investigating the alleged corruption that ensnared Lukas.
Furthermore, Ali also ensured Firli's presence to Jayapura met Lukas to carry out the duties and main functions of the KPK. The meeting was also not in a dark room because it was informed to the public.
