Maximize Preparatory Ahead Of The G20 Bali Summit, PLN Performs Electric Security Simulations
PT PLN (Persero) maximized preparations ahead of the G20 Summit, in Bali on November 15-16, 2022, through electrical security simulations.
PLN Distribution Director Adi Priyatno said that after all electricity infrastructure was prepared to support the G20 Summit, a simulation of electricity security was then carried out. According to him, this is important to ensure the reliability of electricity supply during the agenda that presents the leaders of the 20 largest countries in the world.
"I have heard the presentation of the readiness of the G20 Summit from the PLN UID Bali team. We hope this simulation will be a joint character so that PLN can provide the best service during the G20 Summit," he said, in a written statement, Thursday, November 3.
Adi explained that mitigation has been carried out against a number of potential disturbance risks such as sabotage, and theft that will be monitored using a number of security parameters. PLN conducts electrical security simulations in strategic locations, such as at the Airport Switchgear Insulatade Gas (GIS).
We have prepared several strategies, such as direct and indirect security. The security pattern is also prepared openly and closed," he said.
Currently, the reliability system of PLN's generators to support the G20 Summit event in Bali reaches 1,422 megawatts (MW). This number comes from a power plant in Bali of 952 MW, transfer of electricity from power plants in Java via underwater transmission or a High Voltage Sea Cable Channel (SKLT) of 370 MW, and relocation of Grati Gas Power Plant (PLTG) by 100 MW.
Meanwhile, the peak load at the time of the G20 event is estimated to be only 980 MW. This means that there is a reserve margin of 442 MW.
To strengthen PLN's reliability, PLN has also prepared supporting equipment such as 102 units of uninterruptible power supply (UPS), 36 units of mobile substations (UGB), 29 units of mobile cables and 68 units of generators.
Then 2 detection cars were also prepared, 2 working cars in a state of tension (PDKB) and 2 inject cars. PLN also prepared 5 mobile generator units and 29 equipment as well as 23 operational vehicles.
Not only that, continued Adi, PLN also reconfigured the 150 kilovolt high-voltage air line (SUTT), routine maintenance of high-voltage submarine lines (SKLT), strengthening SUTT from Paiton Steam Power Plants (PLTU), and improving protection systems.
