JAKARTA - The Bawaslu Money Political Patrol Team of Indragiri Hulu Regency, Riau Province, found 146 envelopes containing IDR 50,000 on Tuesday, December 8 evening. This money is allegedly for the dawn attack before the election and vote counting for the local elections in the area.

"Last night I received information that an envelope had been found in a black plastic bag which was suspected to be used to influence voters in the voting," said Head of Panwas, West Rengat Jaya District, Syahputra Nasution, in a written statement in Pekanbaru, reported by Antara, Wednesday, December 9.

The incident took place in a village in West Rengat District. The officer suspected a vehicle passing on the village road and stopped it and checked the two passengers.

From the results of the investigation, Panwas found a black plastic bag containing a box containing 146 envelopes in which there were IDR 50,000 denominations.

The findings were immediately conveyed by PKD to the West Rengat District Supervisory Committee, which at that time was patrolling another location. The two money bearers were escorted to the West Rengat Police Headquarters.

Arriving at the Police Headquarters, the perpetrator was asked to open the plastic bag and with the officers took out the contents of the plastic bag and found 146 envelopes, 11 volunteer decree letters totaling 115 people, as well as a copy of the provisional voter list.

Jaya, who at that time together with other Panwascam members, immediately conducted a plenary and registered the findings and asked Bawaslu Inhu to take over the findings because the process of handling election violations was at the Regency Bawaslu.

On arrival at the police station, officers asked a number of questions to one of the suspects with the initials S regarding the intent and purpose of carrying money in an envelope.

Based on the explanation of suspect S, the money will be used for honorariums for volunteers in his area, namely in the village of Tani Makmur.

S, who is a resident of West Rengat received money from his friend with the initials R. S said that he and 6 of his friends were the Village Coordinators of the winning team for one of the candidate pairs.

Based on S's confession, it is known that the number of TPS in Tani Makmur Village is five with a permanent voter list (DPT) of 1,639 people.

In addition, S also acknowledged that the money that was planned to be given to 115 volunteers.

Mulianto, a member of Bawaslu Inhu who was present, held a plenary session with two other members online because one colleague was not feeling well while the other was patrolling in remote areas.

In the online plenary meeting, Bawaslu Inhu together with the Gakkumdu center will hold a meeting at the Bawaslu Inhu office.

Bawaslu Inhu managed to ask for information from suspect S, while the Defendant R at the Police asked permission to collect his KTP at home. However, until 03.00 WIB today, suspected R did not return.
