PSG Vs Basaksehir Match To Be Resumed Tomorrow, Racist Officials Replaced

JAKARTA - The final match in Group H of the Champions League between Paris Saint-Germain and Istanbul Basaksehir at the Parc des Princes, Paris, on Tuesday local time (Wednesday WIB), has officially been postponed and will continue tomorrow with a change of officials after the racial case.

UEFA on its official website issued a statement that the match would resume starting from the 14th minute by instructing the change of referees.

"Following the alleged incident involving the fourth official, the match was suspended. After consultation with the two teams, it was agreed that the match will start with a different fourth official," wrote a UEFA statement on its official website as reported by Antara, Wednesday.

"UEFA will investigate this matter thoroughly and further communications will be made in due course."

The match was stopped when entering the 14th minute due to a protest by Basaksehir's assistant manager Pierre Webo to the referee before Basaksehir's players decided to leave the field.

The fourth assistant referee Sebastian Coltescu signaled to main referee Ovidiu Hategan to expel Webo for protesting. When Hategan asked who should be given the card, Coltescu answered "negro" which refers to Webu.

UEFA is aware of an incident during tonight's Champions League match between Paris Saint-Germain and Istanbul Basaksehir and will be conducting a thorough investigation. Racism, and discrimination in all its forms, has no place within football. # NoToRacism

Former Chelsea striker who currently plays for Basaksehir, Demba Ba, confronted Coltescu over his comments on Webo. Demba Ba then instructed the other players to leave the field and not continue the game.

"You never said this white man ... so why when you say this black man, you have to say this black man," Ba said.

Ba's move also made the Paris Saint-Germain players respect and both leave the field.

UEFA has - after discussion with both clubs - decided on an exceptional basis to have the remaining minutes of the match played tomorrow with a new team of match officials. The kick-off has been set at 18:55 CET.
