Tiger Woods Hall Of Fame Ceremony Postponed To 2022 Due To Pandemic
JAKARTA - The Hall of Fame coronation ceremony for golfer Tiger Woods had to be postponed until 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic currently sweeping the world.
The holder of 15 major golf tournament titles is scheduled to be crowned the World Golf Hall of Fame along with 11 LPGA champion Susie Maxwell Berning and former PGA Tour Commissioner Tim Finchem.
In addition, the Hall of Fame is also dedicated to the late Marion Hollins, who was one of the few female golf course developers in the history of sports.
"Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have decided to postpone the coronation ceremony of this year's World Golf Hall of Fame until 2022. We will prepare everything well, so that the event can run smoothly," said World Golf Foundation CEO Greg McLaughlin in a statement quoted as saying. Antara from Reuters on Tuesday.
Furthermore, the coronation ceremony is planned to be held on March 9, 2022.
"Through the coronation ceremony, we want to highlight their achievements as well as inspire young golfers around the world to always strive to show their best performance," said McLaughlin.
