Social Minister Risma Left Rp15 Million In Compensation To The Families Of Flood Victims In South Lampung
Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Tri Rismaharini provided compensation and assistance to families of victims affected by the floods in South Lampung Regency, Lampung Province."We provide compensation according to our main duties and functions. For the victims who died, the compensation was Rp. 15 million, we have handed it over to the two heads of families,” said Social Minister Risma in a statement received in Jakarta, Antara, Wednesday, October 2.In addition to compensation, the Minister of Social Affairs also helped meet the daily needs of the victim's family including food packages for each heir, one package of school equipment assistance, one package of male prayer equipment, two packages of women's prayer equipment, kitchen utensils, food utensils and soccer children's toys.One of the families of the victims who died due to the flood in South Lampung, Holisah admitted that she did not expect to lose her husband, Madarif. She was devastated and still hopes to make her life for the sake of children's education.Hearing this, the Minister of Social Affairs spontaneously handed over educational assistance to Holisah, who had two children who were still in school."Earlier we asked for education costs for children, we have cleared them, we will help pay for one year," he said.The four residents who died were victims of the flood disaster that submerged three sub-districts in South Lampung Regency, namely Katimbung, Candipuro, and Sidomulyo Districts.The flood was caused by heavy rains that flushed the area since last Thursday at 01.00 WIB in the morning.As a result, hundreds of houses from three sub-districts were affected by flooding whose heights reached three meters. The Ministry of Social Affairs through the Disaster Preparedness Team (Tagana) has moved to help residents since the flood hit.Tagana as a social pillar to help evacuate victims to safe places, record victims, and distribute logistical assistance. Tagana and the South Lampung Regency Social Service also established a public kitchen in Banyumas Village by producing 1,600 food packs for residents affected by the flood for 2 meals. This public kitchen is managed from 28-30 October 2022.On October 28, 2022, initial logistical assistance from the Ministry of Social Affairs was sent from the Palembang regional warehouse to the South Lampung Regency Social Service and arrived on October 29, 2022.Logistics assistance consists of 1000 packages of ready-to-eat food, 500 packages of children's food, 200 sheets of blankets, 100 sheets of mattresses, 100 mattresses, 200 packages of adult clothing, 100 packages of baby clothing, 200 packages of sanitary napkins and 50 rolled/paved tents.On November 2, 2022, the Minister of Social Affairs brought additional logistical assistance for residents affected by the flood in South Lampung from the Logistics Warehouse of the Integrated Center Inten Soeweno Bogor. The assistance consists of 80 children's food packages, 100 ready-to-eat food packages, 15 blankets, 5 mattresses, 15 adult clothing packages, 10 family kit packages and 10 kidsware packages.Present on the occasion were South Lampung Regent Nanang Ermanto, member of Commission II of the Indonesian House of Representatives Endro Suswantoro Yahman and Head of the Lampung Provincial Social Service, Asworodi.
