Excise For Evacuation Of Ex-Car Dealer Hiba Bus For 5 Hours

The Soetta - Depok Airport transport hiba bus that crashed into a used car dealer on Jalan I Gusti Ngurah Rai, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta, was successfully evacuated by East Jakarta Sub-dept. Officers at the location had sterilized it because buildings and power lines were feared to collapse.

The evacuation was carried out for five hours. After being evacuated, the bus unit, five cars and two motorbikes were taken to the East Jakarta Traffic Unit.

As a result of the accident, the bus hit two motorbikes and five cars were destroyed. The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and was treated at the Friendship Hospital.

East Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Head AKBP Edy Surasa said that currently bus drivers are still being investigated at the East Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Unit. The inspection was carried out to reveal the negligence of the bus driver while driving.

"We are investigating the cause. Maybe sleepy or tired, or playing with cell phones. We will explore everything," said AKBP Edy when contacted, Wednesday, November 2.

The East Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Unit will also conduct urine tests on bus drivers who crash showsrooms.

"Later it will be seen (the bus driver) under the influence of alcohol or not," he said.

Previously, it was reported that a bus on the Depok Terminal - Soekarno Hatta Airport (Soetta) route crashed into a car dealer on Jalan I Gusti Ngurah Rai, Jatinegara, Wednesday at around 09.00 WIB.

After receiving reports from local residents, officers from the East Jakarta Transportation Sub-dept. (Sudinhub) drove to the location to evacuate the bus.
