How Difficult It Is To Send Pilkada Logistics To 1 TPS In Wondama, You Have To Rent A Helicopter At A Cost Of Rp120 Million
TELUK WONDAMA - In Teluk Wondama Regency, West Papua, there is one polling station located in an isolated village. The cost of sending logistics and withdrawing Pilkada logistics to the fund cost IDR 120 million because you have to use a helicopter.
In fact, only one ballot box, three ballot booths made of cardboard and not too many ballots were sent. In addition, the forms and facilities for prescription health protocols, including a bucket for washing hands, and personal protective equipment for KPPS officers.
The polling station is located in Oya Village, Naikere District, which is directly adjacent to Kaimana Regency. Helicopters are the only means of transportation that can reach the village.
For information, during the 2019 Election, logistical distribution to Oya Village was carried out on foot, carrying all of these items.
If you walk while carrying all the foodstuffs and equipment for delivery officers and election logistics at that time, it will take between three and five days to arrive at the outer village of Wondama Bay. If the weather is rainy and the river overflows, the trip can take up to seven days.
The Chairperson of the Wondama Bay Regency KPUD, Monika Elsy Sanoi, together with the Head of the Election Supervisory Agency, Menahen Sabarofek, directly escorted the logistics distribution of the 2020 Pilkada there on Tuesday, December 8.
"Like it or not, the winning bidder must rent a helicopter to deliver and pick up the logistics for the 2020 Pilkada, including TPS security personnel," said Sanoi, at Wasior Airport, quoted by Antara.
Sanoi explained that the logistic distribution to Kampung Oya is planned for Sunday, December 6. However, due to technical constraints, the distribution could only be carried out a day before the voting.
The Wondama Bay KPUD partner who is the executor, said that the cost of renting a helicopter for one round-trip flight reaches Rp 60 million. This amount of money is multiplied by two because the helicopter also has to take all the Pilkada logistics to Wasior.
"The four-hour rental fee is Rp. 60 million. That's enough for the trip back and forth," he said, saying the helicopter was imported from a service provider in Nabire Regency, Papua.
