JAKARTA - Sergio Ramos responded to rumors that he and Lionel Messi had a bad relationship.
Ramos and Messi were once enemies when each of them played for Real Madrid and Barcelona. However, former Los Blancos captain laughed at the news of his dispute with former Blaugrana captain in the Paris Saint-Germain dressing room.
"That's something I think evokes everyone's curiosity," Ramos was quoted as saying by Marca on Wednesday.
"But, in the end we are players who have the same goal, namely to win with Paris Saint-Germain, and to make the team great."
Ramos and Messi, two outstanding teammates. The defender didn't even hesitate to praise his former La Liga rivals.
"My relationship with Messi is very good. There is great respect between the players and a healthy state of mind," Ramos said.
"Of course it's better to have him [Messi] as a team-mate. Whenever you are given the option to have Messi with or against you, the answer is fast and sincere.
