Flooded With Hate Speech After Taken Over By Elon Musk, Twitter Deleted 1,500 Accounts

JAKARTA - There hasn't been a month since Tesla boss Elon Musk took over Twitter, the social media platform has been flooded with a spike in hate behavior.

In a thread shared by Twitter's head of safety and security 8, Roth revealed that the company is working to tackle the troll campaign that led to the hate speech.

"Since Saturday, we have focused on tackling a spike in hate behavior on Twitter. We have made measurable progress, removed more than 1500 accounts and reduced broadcasts on this content to almost zero," Roth wrote in her tweet.

In addition, the Twitter executive also explained that the company was able to reduce broadcasts on hateful content that flooded its website to nearly zero.

"These issues are nothing new, and the people who are targeted for hate behavior are not numbers or data points. We will continue to invest in policies and technology to make things better," he said.
