Police Affirm That They Have Evidence About Possession Of A Member Of The FPI Laskar Senpi Guarding Rizieq, Currently Undergoing A Ballistic Test

JAKARTA - The police emphasize that they are still investigating several pieces of evidence regarding the possession of firearms (senpi) which are said to be used by members of the FPI special laskar guarding Rizieq Shihab.

Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Yusri Yunus, said that one of the evidences studied was a 9mm bullet. Currently, the bullets are still being tested for ballistics.

"It's still a ballistic test, so we are still examining every piece of evidence," Yusri told reporters, Tuesday, December 8.

When the ballistics test is completed, said Yusri, the police will take other legal steps. Thus, strengthening the legal basis of ownership of the senpi.

"Later we will hold pre-reconstruction and reconstruction. In time we will convey it," he said.

On the other hand, Yusri emphasized that the two weapons used as evidence in the assault case were used by special troops. This is based on other evidence that has been collected.

"I emphasize here that the investigators have gathered that there is evidence that the gun was the owner who carried out the attack," he said.

Previously it was reported, the General Chairperson of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) DPP Ahmad Shabri Lubis denied that the laskar carried out the attack while the police were following Rizieq in an investigation into a case of violation of health protocols, which forced the police to fire shots at the six laskar.

"That it is not true that the escort troops carried out the attack. What happened was that Habib Rizieq's group was harassed and threatened for their safety and attacked," said Shabri.

Shabri also denied that the irregulars had firearms. He said that the paramilitary troops who were FPI's ranks were never equipped with weapons. So, according to him, there could be no shooting incident between the two sides.

"That it is not true that the paramilitary troops have firearms and carried out the shooting. Because no FPI paramilitary troops are equipped or equipped themselves with any weapons," he said.
