Munich's Opponent In The Champions League Group Group Competitive Competition, Inzaghi Tegaskan Inter Without Expense
JAKARTA - Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi insists his team will appear weightless against Bayern Munich in the last match in Group C of the 2022/2023 Champions League.
A sense of relief was expressed by Inzaghi because the Nerazzurri had secured a place in the last 16 of the Champions League as runner-up with one game remaining. This status makes Inzaghi will play loose against the Bavarian giant.
"Knowing there will be difficulties, it's clear, because we are facing them (Bayern Munich) as a very strong team with a deep squad," said Inzaghi.
"We want to play a serious and organized match but that doesn't make us appear with a burden," he continued, quoted from Football Italia, Tuesday, November 1.
Inter lost to Munich in the first meeting last September. However, Inzaghi emphasized that his team was different from then. Currently, Inzaghi admits Inter is better because the condition of the players has grown rapidly.
After a slow start this season, Inter Milan are starting to move into a better situation after taking points in two consecutive games against Barcelona. It is called Inzaghi giving confidence to his team to be excited to welcome one of the best clubs in Europe at Giuseppe Meazza.
Inzaghi then reported that Romelu Lukaku was likely to miss the match. The striker had problems with his scar during last weekend's match.
This situation makes Lukaku have to rest for a few days and will then be re-evaluated.
"This is a situation we don't want. He (Romelu Lukaku) gave us a lot of things in this period. Hopefully we can include him back before the break," said Inzaghi.
